Committed to the region, globally valued – that is the Clausthal University of Technology. Yet the university with 4000 students and more than 1000 employees is not a mass university. More than a third of the students and 20 percent of the scientific staff come from abroad, coming from 100 different countries. The university maintains around 200 international education and research partnerships. Natural and material sciences, mechanical engineering, process engineering as well as energy and raw materials combined with mathematics, computer science and economics form the core competences in teaching. Around 30 bachelor’s and master’s degree courses are available. Research focuses on technologies and methods for sustainable management of energy, materials and information.
