Northeim in Südniedersachsen is the city of half-timbered houses, masks and the lake district. The puppet theatre “Theater der Nacht” is housed in an unusual building and attracts more than 200 performances, courses, exhibitions and lectures annually. The Northeim lake district, which was created by gravel mining, consists of 12 different artificial lakes and is an essential part of the local cultural and leisure life.
